Like most data provided by your average statistician there is always a little conjecture about accuracy and interpretation!

The Icon survey has been compiled by the entire Icon Recruitment team. It is a reflection of what current market salaries and contract rates are following extensive consultation with Icon candidates. We have also taken into account what current market expectations are. There is little difference between public and private sector rates and for that matter rates between Wellington and Auckland. Accordingly the data is provided in its simplest form.

With this in mind it should be noted that this survey is a reflection of remuneration from a candidate perspective and not an employer perspective. Whilst this does give way to some degree of variance we feel it says what the market wants.

Peaks and troughs were ironed out to provide additional accuracy. Remuneration figures are total gross income.

NB: We are conscious of further increases occurring in high demand areas such as business analysts, test analysts and some programming languages (C# etc). However like any market bullish runs are not sustainable over time and we would prefer to see a longer more gradual cycle and encourage that this approach be taken by our candidates.
